Café Concert: Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings

Enjoy your morning coffee onstage with music and the WSO! Assistant Conductor, Francisco Hernández Bolaños will lead the WSO in a performance of Tchaikovsky’s hyper-romantic Serenade for Strings. Tchaikovsky’s music will fill the stage with achingly beautiful melodies. Andrew Balfour’s Pyotr’s Dream was inspired by Tchaikovsky’s “Hymn of the Cherubim.” Balfour is an innovative Cree composer, conductor, singer, and sound designer known for fusing classical music traditions with Indigenous texts and themes.
