Two Charged After Police Find $100,000 In Stolen Property

Two people from Windsor are facing several charges after OPP found them with $100,000 in stole property.

OPP say that just after 3:20am on September 1st, 2020, officers from the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police located a suspected stolen pickup truck and trailer at the Husky Gas Bar located on Westchester Bourne, Thames Centre.

Police conducted an investigation, and two people were placed under arrest at the scene.

A stolen pickup truck and trailer were recovered, containing numerous items that had been reported stolen in the Peel, Hamilton, London, Chatham-Kent, Leamington and Windsor area.

It has been estimated that police have recovered over $100,000 in stolen property as a result of this investigation.

Police have charged 36-year-old Charles Bell with possession property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession break-in instruments, possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 and theft of a motor vehicle.

Police have also charged 24-year-old Miranda Ackroyd with possession property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession break-in instruments and possession property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both parties have been scheduled to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.
