A suspect has been arrested after an alert citizen reported what was believed to be a fight at a residence in the 400 block of Crawford Avenue.

On Saturday November 30th at approximately 1:30 am, Windsor Police officers arrived in the area and heard noises believed to be the sound of a garage door, followed by the sound of a person hopping a chain link fence. Officers quickly located a male in the area dressed in dark clothing, including a mask. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Officers then attended the residence and located an adult male victim who had been assaulted. The victim was transported to hospital where it was determined he was facing non-life-threatening injuries.

The Major Crime Branch continues to actively investigate the incident and believes this to be a targeted incident.

James Lachine, a 45 year old male from Windsor, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, have facemask with intent to commit an offence, and possession of methamphetamine.
