Police Arrest Suspect After Cab Driver Assaulted

A Windsor man is facing charges after police alleged he assaulted a cab driver.
Police say it was around 3:15pm on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 they were called to the 3100 block Jefferson Boulevard after a cab driver was assaulted by the passenger in his vehicle.
They say that the driver picked up the suspect and began toward a destination. While driving the suspect became upset and allegedly held the taser to the driver in a threatening manner.
The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle to seek assistance and phone the police. The suspect kicked the vehicle causing damage to the door.
Officers observed the suspect walking away from the scene and were able to place him under arrest without further incident. Officers searched the male, located and seized a taser.
Jacob Wrightman, a 20-year-old male from Windsor is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, mischief under $5,000, and breach of probation.
