Lakeshore Man Faces Several Charges After Avoiding RIDE Program

A Lakeshore man faces several charges after he avoided a RIDE program.

OPP say that the program was set up in front of the Lakeshore OPP Detachment on Notre Dame Street early Saturday morning.

The suspect vehicle turned off onto a side street to avoid the RIDE program. An officer followed the vehicle and it sped away through several residential streets before coming to a stop in the 1600 block of Elmwood Avenue, where the driver fled the vehicle on foot.

The officer chased and arrested the suspect a short distance away.

Cody Trepanier, age 22 was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, exceed 80 milligrams blood alcohol content, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight while being pursued by peace officer, and assault with intent to resist arrest.

He will appear in a Windsor court on August 20th, 2015 to answer to the charges.
