Suspect Caught After Ouellette Mac’s Robbed

Windsor Police have one person in custody after a downtown Mac’s was robbed early Thursday morning.

Police say that around 6:20am the suspect entered the store in the 900 block of Ouellette and went behind the counter.  He brandished a knife to the store employee and demanded cash.  He fled the store on foot with a small amount of cash.

The employee called police and provided the 911 dispatcher with a detailed description of the suspect.

Police attending the area observed the suspect running north on Victoria Avenue.  Officers chased the suspect on foot and apprehended him in the 700 block of Victoria Avenue.  Officers located a knife on the suspect as well as the currency that was taken during the robbery.

Officers involved in the arrest of the suspect viewed video from sore surveillance and positively identified the suspect.

A 24-year-old Windsor man will appear in court this afternoon and is charged with Robbery with a Weapon.
