A Chinese food delivery driver was allegedly robbed by two teens.
Police were called at 2:20am Tuesday to the 1700 block of Cadillac after a Chinese food delivery driver reported he was robbed while delivering to an address.
Police say the driver reported he was waiting to get paid for the delivery when one of the suspects pulled out a black handgun. The gun was pointed at the victim and a demand was made for all of his cash. One of the suspects allegedly had a metal expandable baton which police say he struck the driver with. The driver told officers he was knocked out for several minutes.
Upon regaining consciousness, the victim was able to return to his vehicle to call 911. EMS transported the victim to hospital. He suffered a laceration to his head and a possible broken finger from being struck with the baton.
Officers learned that suspicious males had entered a residence in the 1500 block of Albert Road. As police went to the residence, the homeowner was kicking the three males out. Police say the homeowner also turned over bags of Chinese food and a bag containing a handgun and baton, indicating that the three had brought the items to his house. All three were placed under arrest for robbery.
Police say two of the suspects were also allegedly involved in an attempted robbery of a pharmacy on Monday.
On January 19th around 9pm, two suspects went the pharmacy counter at the Walker and Ottawa Shoppers Drug Mart and handed an employee a note. The note indicated that the suspects had a gun and asked for narcotics. The employee gave the note to the pharmacist on duty but the suspects left the store with nothing.
Police have confirmed that the two suspects, aged 16 and 17, were involved in the robbery at Shoppers. Police are also investigating the same two suspects in relation to a pizza delivery robbery in the 1600 block of St. Luke Road.
Police say the third male arrested at the Albert Road address is 20 years of age.
