OPP say that between 6pm and 7:15pm Thursday evening, a stretch of Highway 401 between the Puce Road and Manning Road became extremely slippery and ice covered resulting in ten accidents.

Police say that there were no serious injuries.

Road crews were called out and the highway has been salted.

Police stress that with the onset of sub freezing temperatures, roads can freeze and become dangerous with very little notice. The public is reminded to slow down, and leave a safe distance between yourself and other vehicles.
