Police Name, Charge Three After Tuesday’s Standoff

Police have charged three people after Tuesday’s nearly 12 hour standoff on Tecumseh Road at Gladstone.

Dozens of officers, along with the bomb squad and emergency response team officers surrounded the building, and police spent several hours trying to establish communications with the accused.

Police were finally able to speak with the male and learned that he was inside the unit with a woman.

A male and female finally exited the building and were arrested without incident around 3am.

Police charged Raymond Raymond, 53, with possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm.

Raymond was arrested by police with another male suspect at approximately 3pm, prior to the standoff, in relation to the initial investigation.

The second male arrested with Raymond was released from police custody without any charges.

Following the standoff, police arrested 29-year-old Matthew Maskery and 32-year-old Sarah Bianchi.

Bianchi is charged with break and enter, break and enter and stealing a firearm, and possession of stolen property.

Maskery is charged with break and enter, break and enter and stealing a firearm, possession of stolen property, and possession of a firearm.

Police recovered a sawed off shotgun from the apartment unit that Maskery and Bianchi were in during the incident.
