Windsor Police have a suspect in custody after they allegedly caught him breaking into a house in West Windsor.

Police were called just before 3am to the 900 block of McKay where a woman told them someone had pried a screen off her window.

The woman told police she saw shadows moving outside and screamed at the suspect.

Police found fresh footprints in the snow and tire tracks from a bicycle leading away from the residence.

Minutes later, police found the suspect in the 1000 block of Curry allegedly standing on a recycle box while trying to pry open another window.

31-year-old John Turpin was arrested and charged with break and enter, theft, three counts of attempted break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property and breach of probation.

After being searched, officers discovered items on the suspect that were taken from another residence in the area.

Police say video surveillance also shows Turpin stealing a bicycle.
