Windsor Police arrested two men from Toronto Sunday night after a theft at a big box store on Provincial Road.

Police say that around 7pm, store security saw a male in the store loading a cart with expensive tools. Security made a connection between the man and a waiting van that was by an exit point in the parking lot.

As police arrived, the van was driving slowly across the parking lot, with the male suspect from the store on foot chasing the van. He had just loaded the van with the stolen merchandise and was being pursued by store security. The van stopped briefly allowing the suspect to get in the front passenger seat.

Police say that their investigation revealed that the arrested persons were staying at a downtown hotel. Police attended the downtown location and located a second vehicle with suspected stolen property inside. Both vehicles have been seized by police.
