Five Arrested With Debit Card Skimming Equipment, Trying to Enter USA in CN Box Car

Early Saturday morning Windsor Police were called to the CN Railway property located at South Cameron and Tecumseh Road West to assist CN Police in locating people who were trespassing on railway property.

CN Police were pursuing a suspect who was seen exiting a railcar on a stationary train headed for the United States. During the search of the train, five men were found hiding in the boxcars with the intent of entering the United States. The men were arrested by officers. A search of the males and the railcars they were hiding in led to the discovery of three backpacks containing several pieces of skimming equipment, blank debit cards, a credit/debit card reader and a green plastic insert for an ATM machine.

Liviu Godin age 37 of Montreal, Nicolae Argnisciuc age 27 of Montreal, Marian Stanica age 37 of Saint-Laurent, Quebec and Costinel Catalin Mirea age 39 Montreal all face a charge of trespassing under section 26.1 of the Railway Safety Act and a charge of deal with a device for forging or falsifying of credit cards under the Criminal Code.

Viorel Bratuva has outstanding arrest and immigration warrants out of British Columbia and he will be returned to BC, and Marian Stanica and Liviu Godin will be returned to Quebec also in relation to outstanding arrest warrants.
