Police have arrested a 32-year-old after a man was stabbed twice in the back in the middle of a thunderstorm on Sunday.

Emergency crews rushed to Wyandotte Street West at Church at 3:15pm and found the man lying in the road.

Police arrived and observed citizens giving first aid to a 31 year old male victim who was lying on the street. The male had multiple stab wounds in the back and chest. Officers continued to assist with first aid and ambulance arrived seconds later. The male was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the victim was walking in the area of Dougall Avenue and Wyandotte Street West. The victim was accompanied by two other males who were on bicycles.

At some point the victim was approached by a black male suspect who was also riding a bicycle. The suspect jumped off his bike and confronted the victim. The suspect then allegedly stabbed the victim.

Preston Scott, a 32-year-old male from Windsor is charged with attempted murder.
