Windsor Police are investigating an early afternoon robbery in the 600 block of Ouellette Avenue in Downtown Windsor.

Police say that a 70-year-old woman was waiting for the bus when she was attacked by a male suspect, who brandished a knife and attempted to steal her purse.

The suspect dropped the purse after a witness pushed him into a nearby wall.

The victim was transported to hospital with a cut to her nose after being struck in the face with the hand holding the knife.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 30’s and was approximately 250 lbs. He was wearing a black t-shirt  and grey cargo shorts. He had a short haircut (blondish) with a chubby face.
