A man who allegedly stole chocolate easter eggs from a grocery store was arrested and the $5 eggs were returned to where they came from.

Police say a man entered the No Frill’s grocery store in Wallaceburg over the weekend and concealed two packages of chocolate eggs. The man allegedly left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.

About an hour later, police say a woman returned the chocolate eggs to the grocery store. The eggs were valued at $5.

Police later identified the man responsible for the theft and arrested him Monday morning.

The 40-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and uttering threats.
