Windsor Police had a section of Dominion Boulevard shut down for about two and a half hours while an alleged port runner was arrested.

Staff Sergeant Lamarre says officers were notified by the Canada Border Services Agency at the Ambassador Bridge that a vehicle had fled customs authorities.

After a broadcast was made to other officers with a description of the vehicle, police located it at a residence on Dominion.

Dominion was shut down between Totten and Northway around 7:30pm. Readers tell windsoriteDOTca tactical officers were on scene.

Police say they arrested the alleged port runner.

The road reopened just after 10pm.
