Windsor Police are warning you not to purchase Maui Jim Sunglasses off the streets if someone try’s to sell them to you. They are most likely stolen.

Police say that around 1:40pm Sunday afternoon they were called to an alarm at the Windsor Optometric Centre on Ouellette Avenue.

Police found that entry was gained by breaking a rear glass door, an interior glass door was also broken to gain access to the business unit.

Once inside the business, a glass display case was damaged and between 20 to 25 various pairs of Maui Jim Sunglasses were taken. An approximate value for the sunglasses is between $6,000 to $7,000.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call 519255-6700 ex 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS.
