Windsor Police have apprehended alleged fugitives Michael Allard and Stephanie Robinson.

The duo were wanted in relation to a vicious assault near downtown.

Police say that around 11am Wednesday a man was viciously assaulted and robbed near Howard and Erie. A male suspect fled the area in a vehicle driven by a female. The vehicle had been reported stolen on June 3rd.

The 52-year-old victim suffered severe head trauma and had to undergo emergency brain surgery. Police report that he is in the ICU currently listed in stable condition. Police say he is a Windsor resident and has no known connection to the suspects.

Police say the male suspect was identified as 30-year-old Michael Wilfred Allard and the female was identified as 22-year-old Stephanie Robinson. Both are from Windsor.

A source informed windsoriteDOTca about a large police presence on Church Street in Downtown Windsor. Tactical officers were on scene along with several squad cars and a prisoner transport wagon.

Windsor Police confirmed via twitter that both Allard and Robinson were apprehended this afternoon.
