Wheatley Provincial Park as seen on Google

If you are heading to a Provincial Park this long weekend, the OPP want to remind you that there is an alcohol ban in effect.

The alcohol ban is effective ten days prior to the statutory holiday.

OPP stress that it is a zero tolerance policy meaning anyone found with alcohol within any Provincial Park may face charges and a park eviction without being able to re-enter any Provincial Park for 72 hours.

Legislation makes the registered owner of a campsite in a Provincial Park liable for any violations that occur on that site.

OPP say that Park Wardens have all the full authority of a Provincial police officer when performing their duties within a Provincial Park.
