A police chase Friday evening ended up with a 23-year-old LaSalle woman facing several charges.

It all began just after 7pm when a police officer was conducting traffic enforcement on the E.C. Row Expressway at Central and clocked a motorcycle travelling at 154 km/hr.

Police say the motorcycle then suddenly veered to the right and got off at Howard Avenue. The officer then activate his lights and sirens in order to stop the motorcycle.

The officer was able to get alongside of the motorcycle, but the motorcycle tried to evade the officer by suddenly braking and then turning to the right and driving up onto the sidewalk, heading north on Howard Avenue.

The motorcycle then came back onto the roadway and attempted to get around the police cruiser, but ended up clipping the rear end of the unmarked police cruiser, causing the motorcycle to go down. The driver then tried to flee on foot, but the officer gave chase and caught the motorcycle operator who was then placed under arrested.

The woman is facing charges of stunt driving as well as dangerous driving.

The motorcycle, a 2006 Honda racing bike, received about $1,500 dollars damage and the police vehicle received about $1,000 in damage. No one was injured.
