Just after 2am this morning, Windsor Police officers were sitting a traffic light on George Ave and Seminole, when they saw a 2007 Chevrolet eastbound on Seminole traveling around 80 – 90-km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone.

Police say the car used a lane of parking spots to pass another vehicle and continued East at a high rate of speed.  Police were able to pull the car over at the corner of Pillette and Reginald.

When police spoke to the 22-year-old male driver and the 29-year-old male passenger, they say that they both looked like they were under the influence of a drugs.  Police also say it appeared that the two males were trying to hide something.

The driver was arrested for being impaired by a drug, and after his arrest officers found a jar on the floor of the car containing a small amount of marijuana as well a marijuana grinder.  Police used a Drug Recognition officer to confirm the driver was under the influence of a drug. Charges of Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving and possession of a narcotic are being sought.

The male passenger was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marihuana and was charged with possession.
