About the workshop:
Writing about Art, will cover the basics of criticism using examples from popular publications like Border Crossings, Canadian Art, and the New York Times. Participants will look at the structure of reviews by a variety of writers, and complete a group exercise. This workshop is for anyone who wants to build their critical writing skills, and would be of value to not only writers but also artists trying to articulate their works for grant applications, exhibitions applications and more.
Though many of the examples will be from Visual Arts, this workshop will be useful to anyone interested in writing about creative works.
