Local musicians of all ages will be coming together in support of sending orphaned and vulnerable children to school in Tanzania. This is the 2nd Annual Tunes for Tanzania event to be held in support of the Tanzania Chapter of the Canadian World Education Foundation.

Some of last year’s performers including Lillian Scheirich from the WSO and University of Windsor Music faculty, students and alumni were so moved by the efforts of CWEF TZ that they have willingly agreed to appear again this year but the program will also feature the talents of other local musicians – the Majestic Brass, Daniela Marentette, and our children performers Will Ebere , Emma McDonald and Fiona Carmichael. Tickets at the door are General Admission $15, Students $5. The concert will be followed by a Taste of Tanzania reception.

Last year’s concert was a tremendous success with enough money being raised to send a young Maasai girl to school rescuing her from an arranged marriage. We’re hoping that the generosity of the Windsor community once again comes through so that another young woman is able to be empowered through education.

Tunes for Tanzania will be an exceptional evening of music that will raise your spirits as well as money for educational projects in Tanzania.
