TechBoost Amherstburg: Making Instagram Work for your Business
Generously funded by a Libro Credit Union Prosperity Grant, The TechBoost Program supports the growth and development of small businesses in Windsor-Essex by providing affordable training in information technology tools and products for business. TechBoost is an initiative of Hackforge, supported by the WindsorEssex Small Business Centre.

Skill Level: Beginner

Audience: Owners or employees of small businesses who want to utilize Instagram as a business tool to build and engage with their customer base and showcase their products and services.

Are you excited to use Instagram to promote your business but not sure how the app works?
Do you need some help generating ideas to kickstart your content strategy?
Are your posts lacking engagement and struggling to reach your audience?
Do you need a few pointers to develop high-quality visual content?

Why Take this Workshop: According to Instagram Business, there are over 25 million business profiles on Instagram worldwide. Are you one of them? Many Instagram users use the platform as a way to keep tabs on their favourite brands and companies.

Goal: By the end of this workshop, participants will understand how Instagram can help accomplish business goals, have created an Instagram profile and uploaded their first post and story.

How to develop the tone, theme and style of your posts and stories

How to start building your follower base

What algorithms mean for your business

How to use analytics to measure your success

Do’s, don’ts and best practices

How and when to utilize paid advertising on Instagram

Amanda Sinasac has been using Instagram since its inception and is so obsessed with social media she made a career out of it. She has developed content for local staples like the Art Gallery of Windsor and Windsor Hackforge and now manages several social media accounts for the St. Clair Student Representative Council.
