Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited returns to Windsor with its award-winning Ford Driving Skills for Life program, enhanced by the all-new Ford Drugged Driving Suit. New drivers from Windsor and surrounding area will again participate in the program over two days at no cost, experiencing advanced hands-on driver training and education in a safe and controlled environment. The enhanced skills and unique perspective gained by participants are not available through traditional drivers’ education programs.
Carefully modified vehicles and professional instructors will be on-site to guide new drivers through each driving exercise, building skills in four key areas: driver distraction, speed and space management, vehicle handling and hazard recognition. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to properly correct an over steer (in a Ford Mustang), avoid hazards with quick reaction times and experience the dangers of distracted and impaired driving in a safe-and-simulated environment.
This year marks the 13th anniversary of the Ford Driving Skills for Life program in the United States, and the program has since expanded into 34 countries, including Canada. Launched in Canada in 2014, Ford Driving Skills for Life has since visited multiple cities across Canada, including Windsor. Participating Windsor schools include: General Amherst High School, St. Joseph’s Catholic High School, St. Anne Catholic High School, École secondaire catholique E.J. Lajeunesse, and École secondaire Michel-Gratton.
