Vaccinations
Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex):

Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Medical Officer of Health, says local vaccination demand has plateaued and the majority of local cases are in the unvaccinated population. He says Windsor Essex now has a surplus of vaccine supply with “plenty” of both Pfizer and Moderna.
“If we have a population that is unvaccinated, the virus will continue to circulate,” he said. “If the virus continues to circulate in this population, the virus will have more opportunity to mutate and turn into something more dangerous.”
He says around 50,000 adults locally are unvaccinated.
“As a community, it’s all our responsibility to make sure that we roll up our sleeves, get the vaccine, get ourselves protected, get our families protected, and also ensure our community’s protected.”
