This Christmas season, the Town of Essex is challenging residents and business owners to put their best lights forward in a festive decorating contest.

Until December 2nd, residents can submit their home address, or a range of addresses in their neighbourhood, to be considered for judging from December 7th to 9th.   Homes are eligible for two categories: “Merry & Bright” (for individual homes) and “Candy Cane Lane” (for multiple addresses on a block).

Eligible homes will be judged by the Town of Essex Arts Culture and Tourism Committee members for a chance to win over $1,700 in Essex Centre Winter Downtown Dollars.

The Essex Centre BIA has also sponsored prizing for member businesses to compete in the competition, with judging conducted by Arts Culture and Tourism Committee members.

A map and list of eligible home and block addresses will be published to the Town of Essex website and social media so residents and visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour of participating properties.
