Efforts continue in the Town of Kingsville to clean up a gasoline leak at a gas station on the corner of County Road 20 and 23.
During the process of securing locates, the cleanup company identified a high-pressure natural gas line located within the working excavation area. Enbridge Gas is currently working to isolate the feed and shut down the line to permit the safe excavation efforts.
The municipality anticipates digging and restoration will safely resume Thursday, with anticipated completion Friday. In the interim, Kingsville remains under a Localized State of Emergency Declaration as the Fire Department, Ontario Provincial Police and the Windsor Fire and Rescue Service HAZMAT team monitor contamination levels.
Town Administration has briefed residents displaced by the necessity of evacuation. Roads in the area remain closed.
