Drug Bust In Amherstburg

One person is facing charges after drug bust in Amherstburg.

Police say that on Monday, March 2nd, 2020 officers were actively investigating suspected trafficking of illicit drugs in the Town of Amherstburg. An involved suspect, residence, and vehicle were identified during the investigation.

Judicial authorization to search the involved vehicle and residence, located in the 100 block of Sandwich Street South, was applied for and granted.

At approximately 7:30pm, the suspect was located in the 100 block of Sandwich Street South and arrested. Also located in the area was the involved vehicle, which was seized by officers.

Shortly after the arrest, the search warrant was executed at the involved residence.

A quantity of illicit drugs and Canadian currency was located and seized during the investigation.

Bailey Sterling, a 22-year-old male from Amherstburg, is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – MDMA.
