Police Looking For Wanted Man After Stabbing

On Sunday September 22nd, 2019 at approximately 10:00am Windsor Police officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Marentette Avenue at Brant Street. Initial information was that two males had been fighting and that one of them had been stabbed.

Information was received that the male suspect had fled the scene on foot running northbound.

The injured victim left the scene prior to police arrival and was transported via taxi cab to hospital for treatment. Officers met with the adult male victim at the hospital and confirmed he was suffering from life-threatening injuries consistent with being stabbed.

Officers arrived on scene at the intersection of Marentette Avenue and Brant Street and located blood on the roadway. The scene was contained, the area was canvassed for witnesses and statements were obtained.

Members of the Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene and the involved cab.

Officers were able to identify an adult male suspect.

Investigation led officers to a residence located in the 800 block of Assumption Street. It was believed that the suspect had attended this address following the stabbing incident. Officers attended the residence and confirmed that the suspect was not present.

Investigators then applied for and received judicial authorization to search the residence.

Later in the evening officers executed the search warrant and seized a number of items.

The case remains under active investigation by the Major Crimes Branch.

Investigators are satisfied that the suspect and the victim were known to one another.

The suspect has been identified as Zephaniah Moses, a 25 year old male from Windsor. He is currently wanted on an arrest warrant in relation to this incident for attempt murder, assault with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Zephaniah Moses (pictured above) is described as a male black, 5’8” in height, weighing approximately 135 pounds, short black hair, and brown eyes.

He is to be considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach.
