ERCA has issued a flood watch for Windsor and Essex County due to heavy rain in the forecast for this afternoon and evening.
They say current predictions are forecasting heavy downpours in localized areas that may see anywhere between 25mm to 50mm of rainfall with rainfall rates up to 25mm per hour.
These storms have the ability to cause ponding in low-lying areas across. The storms can also produce strong winds causing waves, splashing and spray that can exacerbate shoreline areas with additional water. The storms are tracking east across the region and have the ability to occur suddenly and also change their track.
