A suspected impaired driver has been arrested and charged after he crashed, sending multiple people to the hospital.

Police say that around 2:30am on Sunday, July 28th, 2019 officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Howard Avenue and McDougall Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a black BMW in a parking lot to the south/west of the intersection. A large debris field was also found from the roadway leading to the BMW.

Police say it was evident that the vehicle had been heading southbound on McDougall Street when it failed to negotiate a left turn in the roadway. The BMW proceeded to jump a curb and continue to strike many parking lot curbs before coming to a final stop.

The involved vehicle then burst into flames. All six occupants were able to exit the vehicle and transport all to the hospital. None of the injured had any life-threatening injuries.

The driver was arrested at the scene for suspected impaired driving.

Ricardo Siwak, a 19-year-old male from Windsor, is charged with two counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and two counts of operating a motor vehicle while exceeding the legal blood/alcohol limit causing bodily harm.
