Two Charged After Pellet Gun, Knife And Fentanyl Seized
Two men are facing weapon offences and drug possession charges.
Police say that around 2pm on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 police received reports that two male suspects had driving a vehicle in an odd manner in the area of Wyandotte Street West at Rankin Avenue.
At one point, both adult suspects exited their vehicle and began to approach the victim on foot. The witness reported that one of the suspects appeared to be in possession of a handgun, while the second suspect was in possession of a knife.
The victim was able to leave the area and immediately reported the incident to police.
Police obtained a description of the involved vehicle, and the subject vehicle was quickly located in the same area and officers conducted a vehicle stop.
Both adult male occupants were arrested without incident.
A subsequent search of the involved vehicle led to the seizure of a black, and 0.6 grams of suspected fentanyl.
Carmine Lanno, a 51-year-old male from Essex, and Scott Prentice, a 54-year-old male from Amherstburg, are both charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and possession of a controlled substance – suspected fentanyl.
