Police Lay Charges In Sexual Assault Investigation

Windsor Police have laid charges stemming from a sexual assault investigation.
Police say that they have been actively investigating a sexual assault complaint reported to have occurred on September 28th, 2018.
They say that the adult female victim had been communicating electronically with an adult male whom she arranged to meet.
The victim attended a residence located in the 1100 block of Giles Boulevard East. While at the residence the victim reported she was assaulted, confined, and robbed of some property.
Investigators were able to identify the involved suspect. On October 23rd officers located the suspect in the 1100 block of Pierre Avenue and he was arrested without incident.
Investigators applied for and obtained judicial authorization to search the residence and location of the reported offences.
Colton Byrne, a 22-year-old male from Windsor is charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, robbery, assault and breach recognizance.
