Male Arrested After Multiple Thefts From Patrons And Employees Of Downtown Businesses

A Windsor man has been arrested after multiple thefts from patrons and employees of  businesses in downtown Windsor.

Police say that around 3pm on Monday April 3rd, 2017 they were called to a business located in the 300 block of Ouellette Avenue regarding a stolen purse complaint.

Police say their investigation revealed that a male suspect entered a back-room of the business and stole the victim’s purse.

Then at approximately 8:30pm, they were called to a business located in the 200 block of Wyandotte Street West for a similar theft complaint. Investigation revealed that the victim’s backpack was stolen from a rear room in the store.

Video surveillance was obtained from both thefts.

Finally, at approximately 9:30pm, police were called to a third theft complaint from a business located in the 500 block of Ouellette Avenue.

During this incident a wallet was reported stolen from a backpack and a suspect description was provided to police.

Officers searched the area and located a suspect in a nearby alley and placed him under arrest. Upon searching the male officers located the stolen wallet.

David Jenereaux, a 63-year-old male from Windsor, is charged with three counts of theft and breach of probation.
