Windsor Man Arrested After Homeowner Startled During Break And Enter

A Windsor man is facing several charges after a homeowner awoke to find him standing in her home on Fischer Crescent in Leamington.

Police say it happened on December 15th, 2016 around 4am.

When confronted, the male fled on foot with the woman’s purse in hand.

Police attended and immediately contained the area. An extensive search of the neighbourhood led to the suspect being located and arrested after a short foot chase approximately two hours later.

Through investigation, a number of other thefts in the Essex County area were discovered and alleged to have been committed by the same man.

Jonathan Grosse, age 24 of Windsor remains in custody and has been charged with four counts of break and enter and commit indictable offence, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of fail to comply with probation order and one count of theft of motor vehicle.
