Windsor Police are investigating an armed robbery in a riverfront parking lot.

Police say around 10pm on Wednesday December 8th, 2016 four females were parked in a vehicle in the parking lot on the riverfront near Riverside Drive West and California Avenue.

An unknown male opened the car door and demanded the victims cell phones while holding a black handgun.

The male obtained a number of cell phones and began to walk away. As he was walking away one of the females exited the vehicle and tackled the suspect to the ground.

The suspect struck the female and fled the area, south towards University Avenue.

Nobody was injured as a result of the robbery.

The victim believed the handgun was a replica gun.

The suspect is described as a black male, early 20’s, 6’0, with a skinny build. He was wearing a black Windsor thunderbird jacket with red and green writing on the front, black Adidas track pants and air Jordan running shoes.
