Two Charged After Crime Spree

Two people are facing dozens of charges after a short-lived crime spree in Essex County.

OPP say that in the early morning hours of November 5th, 2016 a Ford Focus was stolen from a Morton Avenue residence in Essex. Also in the Town of Essex several other vehicles were entered and credit cards and other valuables were taken.

Through investigation, two suspects were identified and located in the stolen vehicle in the Town of Amherstburg within a few hours of these crimes taking place.

Joseph Hanlon, age 27 of Amherstburg has been charged with seven counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, break and enter a dwelling house. six counts of theft from motor vehicle under $5000, theft of motor vehicle and two counts of unlawful use of credit card.

Brittney Michos, age 28 of Windsor has been charged with five counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, break and enter, five counts of theft from motor vehicle under $5000, theft of motor vehicle, and two counts of unlawful use of credit card.

The OPP have a quantity of seized property in their possession that still needs to be identified and claimed. They are asking that if any resident in the Morton Avenue vicinity has noticed items missing from their vehicles, to contact them at 519-723-2491.
