Drunk Driver Crashes And Attempts To Hide From Police

A Wheatley man is facing charges after police alleged he crashed his car while drunk and then hid.

They say that around 1:56am on October 30th, 2016 they received a report of a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of North Talbot Road and Cameron Side Road in the Town of Kingsville.

Police arrived to find a black Dodge pickup truck had gone through a stop sign and into a guardrail on the east side of the intersection. According to a witness at the scene the driver of the Dodge had fled on foot following the collision prior to police arrival.

A short time later police located the male hiding in the treeline near the scene.

Andrew Sample, age 24 of Wheatley has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and fail or refuse to provide sample of alcohol.

He will appear in a Windsor, Ontario court on November 10th, 2016.
