Police Arrest Man Allegedly Bicycling With Marijuana Plants

Amherstburg Police arrested a man they allege was involved in a number of thefts in the town after police stopped him while he was allegedly bicycling with marijuana plants.
On September 20th at around 11pm, an Amherstburg officer on patrol saw a man riding a bicycle in the area of Sandwich and St. Arnaud with what appeared to be marijuana plants.
The male was stopped and placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
Police had received numerous reports of thefts in the area that evening from Front Road North, Thrasher Drive, and Emerald Lane.
As a result of further investigation by police the suspect was allegedly linked to these thefts.
Shane Mulder, 23, of Amherstburg has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime, break and enter with intent, mischief under $5000, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation.
