The OPP are applauding the motoring public for contacting police when they witness erratic driving behaviour.
On August 22nd at around 1:30pm, an alert motorist contacted the Ontario Provincial Police as she followed a blue Dodge being operated erratically, eastbound on South Talbot Road in Tecumseh.
The motorist followed as the driver of the Dodge allegedly weaved dangerously between lanes at varying speeds, almost entering the ditch on occasion and allegedly narrowly avoiding striking several oncoming vehicles.
The suspect vehicle then reportedly stopped and idled in the middle of the roadway with its turn signal illuminated prior to police arrival.
Officers found a man passed out behind the wheel of the vehicle. He allegedly exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested.
Todd Hillman, age 51 of Tilbury, was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and failure or refuse to provide breath sample.
