LaSalle Police are investigating a violent crime at a park in LaSalle.

On Wednesday, August 3rd shortly after 10pm, a young man and woman were out for a walk near Heritage Park when they were approached by two suspects.

One of the suspects brandished a knife and demanded their valuables. When the victims refused, the suspects started punching and hitting the young man.

When the woman intervened she too was hit.

The two suspects then fled the area. One of the suspects left in a white sedan, eastbound on Rushwood Crescent, while the other ran towards the Windsor Crossing outlet mall.

The male victim was taken to the hospital as he had suffered a broken jaw.

Suspect #1 was described as a Hispanic male, 5′-7”, 18 to 19 yrs old, average build with short brown or black hair, clean shaven and spoke with a Hispanic accent.

Suspect #2 was described as being a black male with dark skin, over 6′-1”, also 18 to 19 yrs old, with a skinny build & wearing a grey hoodie.

Anyone with information is asked to call LaSalle Police at 519-969-5210 or CrimeStoppers at 519-258-TIPS.

Police are asking if anyone in the area of Rushwood Crescent or Heritage Drive has surveillance cameras, please check the footage and let police know if you see anything, or can help identify the sedan or the suspects.
