Windsor Man Arrested In Peel For Home Invasion Robberies

A Windsor man has been charged in connection with a string of home invasion style robberies in the Greater Toronto Area.

Peel Regional Police say that 25-year-old Rashid Ahmad attended 22 Division Peel Regional Police on July 18th 2016 and turned himself in.

Ahmad is charged with robbery, use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence, and disguise with intent.

The charges are in relation to a series of home invasion robberies which occurred between October 2014 and December 23rd, 2015.

Police called the acts were “vicious” and “cowardly.”

In some cases, the accused used hand guns, duct tape, zip ties and a taser to assault the victims which included elderly and children

Ahmad was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice, Brampton on Monday July 18th, 2016.
