Attempted Murder, Kidnapping In Windsor; Victim Gets Away On 401

Windsor Police are investigating an attempted murder, kidnapping and forcible confinement.

They say the incident began in the 3700 block of Montcalm in Windsor in the evening of July 12th.

An adult female was kidnapped by a lone male who was known to her, and taken out of the city by vehicle.

She was able to escape from the vehicle off of the 401 near Ingersoll, and the police were contacted.

The suspect was subsequently arrested at a truck stop in Woodstock.

A 42 year old male has been arrested and has been charged with attempted murder, forcible confinement, kidnapping and assault with a weapon, as well as several other offences.

The Windsor Police Service is seeking any information the public may have with respect to this offence.
