Police Make Arrest After Early Morning Pharmacy Robbery

Windsor Police have made an arrest after an early morning pharmacy was robbed.

Police say the Shopper’s Drug Mart located in the 11000 block of Tecumseh Road East was robbed around 3am Friday.

The male suspect entered the store and went directly behind the pharmacy counter. He allegedly demanded a quantity of sleeping pills and Percocet pills while brandishing a knife. After obtaining a quantity of narcotics he quickly left the store.

Investigators received information of a male from Tecumseh that was suffering a medical emergency who was transported to hospital for treatment. After reviewing video surveillance and attending the hospital officers identified this male as the alleged robbery suspect.

At approximately 12:15pm the male was placed under arrest.

A 62-year-old male from Tecumseh is charged with robbery. He was released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
