Police Looking For Witnesses Of Community Centre Assault

Windsor Police are looking for witnesses to an assault at a private event at a City of Windsor community centre.

On Sunday June 5th at approximately 12:45am, Windsor Police were called to the Optimist Community Centre located in the 1000 block of Ypres Avenue for an assault.

Officers arrived and observed a number of people standing around a 21 year old male laying on the ground. Investigation revealed that there was a private function at the Community Centre.

At some point around midnight there was an altercation between two males just outside the Centre. As a result of the altercation a male fell to the ground and suffered a serious head injury and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the assault to call 519-255-6700 ext. 4843.
