Police have arrested four people after a vehicle stolen from Halifax tried to ram police cruisers.

On Tuesday, officers in the area of Erie Street West and Pelissier Street noticed a black Ford Fiesta that was involved in a theft at a convenience store earlier in the day.

Police say the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Halifax, was stopped in a parking lot in the 300 block of Tecumseh Road East with the assistance of patrol officers and the K9 Unit.

Police say the driver of the vehicle appeared to intentionally ram cruisers in an attempt to escape and then come to a stop.

Officers removed the 32 year old male driver from the vehicle and placed him under arrest after a brief struggle.

Three other people were arrested.

Officers also located and seized a quantity of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

Douglas Kenny, 32, Christopher McNeil, 31, Jordan Irwin, 25, and Victoria Heckley, 23, were arrested and are facing charges.
