Alcohol May Have Been A Factor In ATV Crash

Amherstburg Police are investigating an ATV accident that sent two people to hospital.

Police say the crash happened on Sunday, December 13, 2015 around 12:30am in the 4900 block of the 4th Concession North.

Investigation into the accident has revealed that the ATV was being driven by a 41-year-old LaSalle man and had a 38-year-old female passenger from LaSalle. The ATV was the lead of a group of ATV’s travelling west bound through a farmer’s field approaching the 4th concession.

The ATV hit the ditch on the west side of Concession 4, and both the driver and the passenger were ejected.

Both were transported to hospital. The male sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital. The female passenger sustained minor injuries and has been released from the hospital.

Police say that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.

Charges maybe pending and will be determined at a later date.
