Teen Tries To Avoid RIDE Program, Gets Arrested

A Lakeshore teen was arrested after she allegedly tried to avoid a RIDE program, early Sunday morning.
OPP were conducting the RIDE check on County Road 22 near West Puce Road when around 2am, officers noticed a red Jeep braking abruptly and turning before the RIDE stop in an effort to evade police.
Officers stopped the vehicle a short distance away.
Police say five people were in the Jeep and officers noticed a strong odour of alcohol emanated from inside the vehicle.
The driver was issued a roadside screening test which police say she failed.
Alcohol was also allegedly found inside the vehicle.
The 17-year-old driver from Lakeshore was arrested and charged with exceeding 80 mg blood alcohol content.
