Windsor Police are investigating after a gun was stolen from a residence on Coventry Court.

Police were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Coventry Court on Monday August 10th for a report of a stolen firearm. Officers met with the gun owner who indicated that his unloaded 9mm Baretta pistol was stored in a weapons lock box in his vehicle.

The owner discovered the box and contents missing from his vehicle and immediately called police.

Police say the gun owner was authorized to possess and store the firearm in accordance with firearms legislation.

The box and lock were left behind and are pictured.
